Wavely Job Board
The Wavely Job Board is a desktop client designed to streamline hiring by directly connecting employers with talent. Unlike traditional job boards where resumes disappear into the void, Wavely takes a chat-first approach, enabling immediate conversations between candidates and hiring managers. This eliminates ambiguity, accelerates the hiring process, and fosters more meaningful connections from the start.

UX Research, Web, Desktop
This project aimed to redesign Wavely’s core chat flow, optimizing how employers connect with talent and manage open roles. I led a full redesign from the ground up, redefining the design system and reconfiguring key navigation elements to enhance usability. This effort was part of an initiative to explore a potential partnership with Wavely.

Things to keep in mind
The Reasoning
Clunky user experience hindered engagement and efficiency.
Key CTAs, such as "View on Wavely App," were often overlooked, reducing conversion rates.
A need to modernize the design language to align with current UI/UX standards and improve usability.
THE DYNAMICS
Optimizing role and talent organization with improved filtering was a top priority.
CTAs and upgrade prompts were underutilized, impacting engagement and conversions.
Tight project timeline required efficient execution and decision-making.
The Goals
Modernize and refine the design, eliminating any sense of clunkiness.
Encourage app downloads by providing a compelling reason for users to transition to the Wavely app.
Streamline chat navigation, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience.
The Context
Absence of a cohesive design system led to inconsistency and confusion.
Overwhelming CTAs distracted users and detracted from key actions.
Lack of clear filtering options made it difficult for users to navigate roles and talent effectively.
Let’s conceptualize
The conceptualization process for Wavely's chat redesign focused on addressing key usability issues and modernizing the platform’s design. We began by analyzing the existing challenges, such as the lack of a cohesive design system, overwhelming CTAs, and inadequate filtering capabilities. The goal was to streamline the user experience, making it intuitive and engaging. We aimed to reduce clutter, create a clear design language, and ensure that users could easily navigate roles and talent. This process also involved rethinking key CTAs to make them more compelling and focused, with the ultimate goal of encouraging users to transition to the Wavely app while offering a seamless chat experience.

The original version of Wavely’s chat functionality suffered from poor visual hierarchy, excessive use of CTAs prompting users to upgrade their accounts or download the app—without providing clear incentives—and an overall lack of refined visual design.

Results
Although the redesign for Wavely's chat flow was never launched, the project provided valuable insights into key issues with the product. Through the process, we identified significant pain points such as the lack of a cohesive design system, overwhelming CTAs, and poor filtering options, all of which hindered the user experience. While the project didn’t reach the implementation stage, the redesign process itself helped inform the direction for future improvements. The insights gathered highlighted critical areas for optimization, showcasing my ability to identify user needs, propose solutions, and adapt to changing project conditions.
